Hummer Phone HT1 - Rugged as the H1 OR Cheap like the H2?
So Hummer has launched their phone, the HT1. It certainly looks cool, with the camo design and Hummer logo. But I can’t help thinking that this can’t be the durable, rugged, strong phone we want it to be. Hummer has spent too much time selling cheesy tin cans with their logo on it. Just check out which model is shown on the phone display in the press photo (large below). Hint: it’s NOT the H1. My advice? Lose the French junk and give me a phone that you can throw off a cliff and let be run over by a truck, and that still functions when I need to report back to my wife HQ.

“Move over, Porsche–you can stay at the museum in your pretty aluminum-milled handset. The road, meanwhile, will belong to the Hummer phone. The “HT1″ returns to Hummer’s military roots, at least superficially, with a camo-designed casing to protect a 2.2-inch touch screen, 2-megapixel camera, FM radio and 2MB of built-in memory. Newlaunches says it’s the creation of French design firm ModeLabs, which is known for its unique concepts especially where phones are concerned.”

“Dolce and Gabanna, Prada, Ferrari, Porsche and now it is Hummer’s turn to jump into the cell phone market. The GSM slider phone has specs which you can expect from a standard multimedia phone it sports a 2.2 inch touchscreen supporting 262k colors, 2 Megapixel camera, 25 MB of onboard memory, FM Radio, Bluetooth A2DP and Micro SD card slot.
The Hummer HT1 has no cell phone manufacturer backing it. the phone is designed by French design company Modelabs and will be available for around 300 Euros ($ 400).”

Is the H1 discontinued? I didn’t know that. I agree, Chris, that’s just stupid. Even if they only sold a few, it was still their flagship. I drool every time I see one.
