Choose The Perfect Sunglasses
Most guys wear cheap sunglasses, right. We see the ads for this year’s stylish sunglasses, but stick to the ones we bought five years ago. Or, since we’ve lost them, buy a new pair of sunglasses at the gas station. Nothing wrong with that.
In fact, it is possible to buy really cheap sunglasses and look great. It’s even easier to buy very expensive and trendy sunglasses and look really stupid. Here’s my guide to buying sunglasses:
Rule #1: Pick sunglasses that fit your face shape and size.
That’s my one and only rule. If you buy a pair of sunglasses that has a perfect fit, you can’t go wrong. You will look good even if it’s been three years since they were fashionable (as if you care about that).
OK, some guys manage to pull it off wearing ridiculous sunglasses. Mostly because the guys are ultra cool themselves. The rest of us should stay away from the glam stuff and focus and what really fits our face.
So how do you do that? Well… I recommend letting that manly pride rest for a day and get some good help. And where can you find such help? From women. And opticians. I really recommend visiting a specialist, even if you’re not going to buy their overpriced stuff. Those who work with glasses and sunglasses every day, really know what they’re talking about. And to get the best help, put on some good clothes that makes you look like you have money and bring a woman for a second opinion.
Now remember that you are looking for sunglasses that fits your face shape and size. Emphasize this, and repeat it as often as you need to, as women often tend to talk their way over to fashion (and we’re not interested, right?).
Take your time and try to find three pairs of sunglasses that really look good on you. Have them take a picture of you (explain that you need a third opinion) with the digital camera you brought along. Then leave. Don’t buy anything now. Even if you have the money. It’s time to give it some thought.
Check out the pictures of yourself together with some women you trust. Which sunglasses gives you the best look? Ask questions like “who do I remind you of here?”
If you still don’t know what you’re looking for, repeat. Or just drop it. If you don’t really care how you look, you should not waste your time on this. Buy whatever fits your wallet or gut feeling and have fun in the sun.
If you’ve found your fit, it’s time to buy. If you want to go back to the expensive store, do it. If not, be on the lookout for cheap sunglasses that has the same shape and size as the ones you’ve chosen. I’m positive that you’ll find a really cheap pair that will protect your eyes, that will make you look great and that you can afford to forget at the beach.
