Sex is great! You can never underestimate the benefits of . When viewed as a regular physical activity and/or exercise, you reap all of the following benefits, if not more!

Sex - The Perfect Workout

Arguably one of the three biggest money makers of all time, joins in the ranks of drugs and sports as having a global impact that affects us all. Sex can be an expression of the highest type of between two people, or it can mean something as degrading and destructive as the act of rape. Of the many sides of , we will for a moment steer clear from the emotional and spiritual ties is has and focus merely on the physical side of sex.

Benefits of Sex

Sex is great! You can never underestimate the benefits of sex. When viewed as a regular physical activity and/or exercise, you reap all of the following benefits, if not more! I will use the following outline of benefits, derived from the ACSM’s Guidelines, to increase the value of sex in our modern-day lives. (My comments in italics.)

Improvement in Cardiovascular and Respiratory Function

* Increased maximal oxygen uptake”
* Decreased heart rate and blood pressure”
* Increased capillary density in skeletal muscle”
* Increased exercise threshold”

Sex increases your levels so that you have a lower heart rate, lower blood pressure, and more muscle development.

Reduction in Coronary Artery Disease Risk Factors

* Reduced resting systolic/diastolic pressures”
* Increased serum high-density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol and decreased serum triglycerides”
* Reduced total body fat, reduced intra-abdominal fat”
* Reduced insulin needs, improved glucose tolerance”

By improving your heart , having sex reduces the risk of a heart attack and stroke. Keep those arteries and veins clean through physical activity (i.e. sex!).

Decreased Morbidity and Mortality

* Higher activity and/or fitness levels are associated with lower death rates from coronary artery disease”
* Higher activity and/or fitness levels are associated with lower incidence rates for combined cardiovascular diseases, coronary artery disease, stroke, type 2 diabetes, osteoporotic fractures, cancer of the colon and breast, and gallbladder disease”

Who in the world wouldn’t want to improve their wellness and fend off diseases and cancers? If exercising is too much for you, have sex! Sexual intercourse will get your heart rate up for a cardiovascular workout and you will place a demand on your muscles for a weight resistance workout.

Other Postulated Benefits

* Decreased anxiety and depression”
* Enhanced physical function and independent living in older persons”
* Enhanced feelings of well being”
* Enhanced performance of work, recreational, and sport activities”

Each of these benefits could be a title in its self. Relieve stress! Live independently in your golden years! Feel good! Work better, play better, and compete better! Sex as a physical activity and/or exercise does all of this for you.

Cardiovascular Benefits

In order to see an improvement in your health and well-being, an aerobic activity that raises your heart rate for 20-30 minutes is great. If you parallel this to sexual intercourse, men will typically have to hold off a bit longer considering their orgasm occurs on average within the first 15 minutes. This may be challenging, however, the cardiovascular benefits to come are well deserved.

Muscular Benefits

Did you know that there is no other exercise that uses the whole body?! Some could argue that swimming or wrestling does, however, when you consider the various planes of movement and differing directions in forces movements, engaging in sex will work muscles you never knew you had! Vary the positions and keep your body guessing as to what you will demand from it next.

Increased Flexibility

Use your imagination. The activity in itself is free of any rigid plane of motion (i.e. exercise machine), so feel free to stretch, become more flexible, and use a variety of positions.

The Best Position for Sex

And now what we’ve all been waiting for, THE best position for sex. I first heard this back in 2005 when I was at a summer camp, and we were talking about men, women, and . Without any further ado, there are three rules for having the best position in sex. Here they are:

The Best Position For Sex Is:

1. Between one man,
2. One woman,
3. Within .

Period. Anything outside of these three rules is chaos and not how it was meant to be. If you play outside of these rules, your life will suffer. If, however, you want to enjoy the best sex of your life, you now know exactly what you have to do.
