The diamond industry has put strict measures into place in accordance with what is known as the Kimberly Process. This is to insure that illicitly mined and/or smuggled ROUGH diamonds aren't sold into legitimate distrbution channels. It's an internationally coordinated response to the financing of civil wars in nations like Sierra Leone. I have an article on my blogsite regarding this. In any event, most of the women that I know want high tech consumer items and DIAMOND jewelry too. But then again, I live in Las Vegas where everybody WANTS EVERYTHING. Usually all at once!
